HC refers to our ice makers that use the natural gas propane R290 (HydroCarbon). This refrigerant has zero environmental impact and complies with current regulations, making it a sustainable and eco-friendly choice.
The best way to clean an ice maker is to follow the instructions in the Instruction Manual. You can download the manual directly from the product page.
You can find instructions for sanitizing your ice maker in the Instruction Manual. You can download the manual from the product page.
The water consumption of the ice maker is listed in the technical sheet of each of our products. The value is provided in liters per kilogram of ice produced.
Normally, water is drained by gravity. If it is not possible to ensure a slope of at least 15%, it is necessary to order an ice maker with an integrated drain pump. This allows draining the water up to 1.5 meters in height or 4 meters in distance.

Note:
- Not all ice makers are available with an integrated drain pump (the DP suffix in the catalog identifies the drain pump).
- It is not possible to install the drain pump on ice makers already produced.

The cloudy color is due to the quality of the water used. This is a very common phenomenon when using water softeners or reverse osmosis systems for water treatment.

It is recommended to use cartridge filters with activated carbon dedicated to the ice industry and ensure water hardness around 15°F.
Misshapen cubes result from improper water flow towards the evaporator from one or more sprayers. This could be due to:
- Limescale or dirt blocking one or more sprayers (cleaning is required).
- Lack of water in the pan during the water production cycle (check for leaks).
Air-cooled ice makers require a large amount of air to function properly, which must be at a temperature lower than 43°C to ensure optimal operation and consistent production.

It is recommended to place the machine in a cool, ventilated area. When this is not possible, it is advisable to use a water-cooled ice maker, which is immune to ambient temperature, ensuring consistent ice production.

Please note that water-cooled ice makers consume significantly more water than air-cooled ones.

The new Regulation (EU) 2024/573 on fluorinated greenhouse gases comes into effect on March 11, 2024, repealing the previous Regulation (EU) 517/2014 and amending Directive (EU) 2019/1937.

The goal of the new F-Gas regulation is to strengthen the regulation of fluorinated gases and manage their use.

This regulation aims to achieve the climate goals set by the European Union for 2030 and climate neutrality by 2050.

Specifically, through the implementation of this regulation, the elimination of at least 500 million tons of CO2 emissions by 2050 is expected.

For more information: visit the European Union official website.
R290 (Refrigerant Propane) is a pure hydrocarbon (HC) with a purity of at least 99.5% or 99.9%, with a very low GWP (Global Warming Potential). It has a minimal environmental impact and high efficiency, which allows us to minimize the required charge for the operation of machines and ensure their safety.

R290 (Refrigerant Propane) is a flammable refrigerant classified as A3. Since the early 1990s, R290 and other flammable refrigerants have been used in household refrigerators and portable air conditioners.

The charge limits imposed by law, the choice of components used, and the rigorous certification tests the machines undergo ensure the complete safety of our equipment.

Current regulations define products with a charge of up to 150 grams of R290 gas as safe to use. They do not require specific installation conditions.

For machines with a charge of over 150 grams and up to 500 grams of R290 gas, the installation volume and space must be considered.

The sale of machines with a charge exceeding 500 grams of R290 gas is prohibited.
Transport by sea and land can be carried out without specific issues, while products transported by air must not contain a gas charge exceeding 100 grams.

There are currently no specific regulations regarding the storage of products with R290 gas.

However, it is possible that local authorities may establish regulations for safer storage and transport in the coming months.
This depends on local regulations. In general, it is recommended that installations, maintenance, and repairs be carried out by certified personnel with a special permit/certificate.

Technicians must attend specific courses to work with this type of flammable gas.
